Flying colours: Photo Basel 2021 gets vibrant – in pictures

Switzerland’s first and only art fair dedicated to photography is back with images of fairytales, fabrics and firepower.

Nikita Teryoshin, Nothing Personal: »Between 2016 and 2019, I took a look behind the scenes of the global arms trade, at exclusive armaments fairs where the who’s who of industry and politics meet and billion-dollar deals are made. This long-term project shows the »back office of war«, which is the complete opposite of a battlefield. An oversized playing field for adults with beer, wine, canapés and freshly polished weapons. Dead bodies here are mannequins or pixels on the screens of a variety of lifelike war simulators – and applauded by heads of state and business people«.
